Pricing

Priced for one owner, not for ten seats

There is a reason most businesses that would benefit from a news desk have never been offered one. The products that do this are quoted rather than priced, and the smallest package Meltwater publishes is ten users at £22,800 a year. A Desk is £400 a month, for one person, with the set-up included and the price on this page.

Public-sector prices; a commercial quote may differ, and scope moves them a long way. Read each figure as the specific thing it names, not as that company’s tariff.

The questions everyone asks

Is there really no set-up fee?
No fee. The work is real — about a fortnight of it — and we absorb it, because a bill before you have seen the thing working is a bad way to find out whether it suits you. It is also why there is a twelve-month minimum: that is the only thing making the arithmetic work at our end.
Is there a free trial?
Not a self-serve one. What you get instead is a demo on a desk we build for your market beforehand — so you see your own competitors in it, not a sandbox with somebody else’s news.
Can I cancel?
Twelve-month minimum, because the ranking learns from your decisions and the archive accrues value — three months is not a fair test. If it genuinely is not working, that is a conversation, not a contract argument.
Whose subscriber list is it?
Yours. Exportable in full at any time, in a format any other system can read. A list you cannot take with you is not really yours.

Two things billed separately, at cost. Some sources charge for their own access — a paid trade title, an auction price database. Those come to you from the source at whatever they charge, with nothing added. Heavy AI use beyond a generous allowance is metered, and shown to you before it is incurred.

Our own figures are indicative pending a scoping conversation, and are not contractual. Other companies’ figures are their published list prices on the dates given above, and we do not speak for what any of them would quote you.
